Watch For Distractions

Watch For Distractions

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand."

1 CORINTHIANS 10:13

The Lord's call is for us to be loyal to him - faithful to him - and obedient to him. In a world full of distractions and confusion it is easy to be tricked into following other avenues in pursuit of life. It is easy to take advice from a family member or friend. It is easy to be busy and occupied working to build a fading and failing world. In a world that does not know Jesus as Lord of Lords it is easy to be distracted from following him.

It is not the Lord that prevents people from doing his will with the full power of God in heaven - it is simply a lack of faith. People put their faith in things seen - things they can touch - rather than the unseen. This is a lack of faith - Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. - Hebrews 11:1

There is no storm too great for the Lord to calm and tame. There is no situation in which he will not guide you through. There is no thing he cannot do. It is you that must choose to have faith in him so he can show you the way.

“The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” 1 John 2:17

“Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” James 4:14-15

“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.” Acts 20:28

“The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.” John 21:17

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ...” Romans 5:1
