Spiritual confusion happens when you follow Christ - yet endure very difficult situations. In these difficult situations you respond with softness and patience only the Lord can provide through the Spirit. It is how God teaches his strong spirit filled children.

Learning in God's way is to experience much hardship as Jesus did - but overcome and spread the great news. Jesus overcame the entire world for you to come to him for guidance. Do not leave him, he wants you most when you feel the most pain - so he can love you - just the way you need him too. 

“In your Kingdom, please let my two sons sit in places of honor next to you, one on your right and the other on your left.” But Jesus answered by saying to them, “You don’t know what you are asking! Are you able to drink from the bitter cup of suffering I am about to drink?” Matthew 20:21-22

“For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Luke 14:11

“And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.” Romans 8:17

“So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.” 1 Peter 5:10
