I Still Love You

I Still Love You

“A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep.”

JOHN 21:17

There is not failure in walking with Jesus - just new opportunities to be shaped and molded - like bread - in his image. He is the way - the truth - and the life. Despair not in the failings of being unequipped - but rest in your weakness produced by failure - to be strengthened in wisdom and knowledge.

The Lord is truth - Jesus is the way - walk with him in entirety and be found. The Lord has come to gather his sheep - he has come to bring us home. Seek his face - his love - Jesus lives.

Jesus asked repeatedly for his disciples to stay awake with him as he was in deep anguish for the purpose of his life - for death - was at hand.

"Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:40-41

Repeatedly - the disciples / friends - that walked with Jesus did something in the human behavior that was counter to the direct ask of Jesus. In such - Jesus will ask you to do another thing for him giving you always another chance to do his will. He does not hold you in contempt - he does not hold a grudge as a person of the world. No - Jesus is the redemption - the forgiver of all sin - the continual living flow of life that directs each next step.

We are called to continual obedience to Jesus and he will always allow you to do the next thing for him. Worry not about a time in which you heard the call of God and did not respond - but rather - wake up - get up and do the next thing the Lord asks of you.

“The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

“Know that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” Psalm 100:3

“But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” James 2:18

“For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins…” Hebrews 10:26

“The Lord redeems the souls of His servants, And none of those who take refuge in Him will suffer for their guilt.” Psalm 34:22

“So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires.” 1 Peter 1:14

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2
