Come With Me

Come With Me

“For we live by believing and not by seeing."

2 Corinthians 5:7

Difficult, menial or grinding type of work is nothing more than being willing to serve your Lord with all your heart regardless of the fear or circumstance. It is in this service the light in you - the light of the Spirit - shines brightly.

It is here - that the light grows - increases - through service of the heart the gifts of the spirit are received - through openness even if it seems dark. Let not your feet or ability be afraid of what you cannot see. It is in faith that you are cleansed of sin. It is through faith in the Spirit and accepting the truth of Jesus when we receive it.

God is always here. Though he will not act for you or replace your human will with his without your effort. We are called by faith - therefore we must take our faith in Jesus and put it into action for him - most certainly in the most mundane of tasks. In your faith action - Christ himself will fill your Spirit with his. Jesus is the transfiguration of flesh.

"After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus." Matthew 17:1-3

To work for the Lord is to do all the tasks the Lord needs to be completed. To be a servant is to serve. There are many tasks of the Lord that are laboring and dull in nature - the edification of the menial task occurs in the act of service for God with an open heart of love.

The last act of service King Jesus did for his disciples was to wash their feet after they ate their final meal together. He was not cleansing them of sin - as that is done by faith in him. No - he was calling each of his disciples to see and understand the act of serving another takes place in the most menial and mundane tasks.

You are blessed in service to God - Service to God takes place through loving and serving people.

“I have worked hard and long, enduring many sleepless nights. I have been hungry and thirsty and have often gone without food. I have shivered in the cold, without enough clothing to keep me warm.” 2 Corinthians 11:27

“Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God. So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him.” John 13: 3-5

“For you recall, brothers and sisters, our toil and drudgery: By working night and day so as not to impose a burden on any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.” 1 Thessalonians 2:9

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Proverbs 16:3
